Red Storm Fall To Gonzaga In NCAA Tournament

For the senior class of the St. John’s men’s basketball team, the goal was to finally play in an NCAA tournament game. It was a goal that eluded them for three years and when they took to the court in Denver, Colorado, in the second-round of the Southeast Region, a team from Gonzaga University thwarted their hopes of keeping that dream alive for at least one more game.

It's Official! Rutgers men's basketball team lost to St. John's in the BIG EAST Tournament with a little help from a veteran officiating crew led by Jim Burr. An obvious missed call deprived the Scarlet Knights of tying or winning the game. The loss ended the season for Rutgers.

Hofstra's Jenkins Earns Second Straight CAA Player Of Year Honors

Hofstra senior guard Charles Jenkins was named the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Basketball Player of the Year for the second year in a row in a vote of the league's coaches, sports information directors and media representatives, it was announced at the CAA annual awards banquet.

Men's And Women's Basketball On A Roll At St. John's

While watching the Red Storm beat No. 15 Villanova, chants of “We Are St. John’s” and “De-fense” could be heard throughout the arena – no, not at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia – but at Carnesecca Arena following a women’s basketball victory over the University of Pittsburgh.

In front of an enthusiastic sold-out crowd, the No. 23 ranked Red Storm continued to steamroll through the month of February beating up on the DePaul Blue Demons in a convincing 76-51 victory in a BIG EAST match-up at Carnesecca Arena.

Hofstra's Charles Jenkins Reaches Scoring Milestone

Senior guard Charles Jenkins stood at the foul line and calmly sank a free throw sending the sellout crowd of 5,050 at the Mark Sports Complex into a frenzy, as he broke the Hofstra men's basketball all-time scoring record previously held by  former teammate Antoine Agudio.

Red Storm Trounces No. 3 Duke At The Garden

The Red Storm took to the court of a sold out Madison Square Garden taking control from tip to finish in a decisive 93-78 win over the No. 3 ranked Duke Blue Devils, proving evident that the St. John’s program is moving in the right direction.
